Felix Allard (14) and Owen Simmons (4) celebrate after a Bruins' goal Monday.

ESTEVAN - The Estevan Bruins gave their fans another reason to be thankful on Monday with a 4-3 victory over the Melville Millionaires at Affinity Place.

The Bruins enjoyed a strong start to the game, as Keagon Little scored a short-handed goal and Ilia Chmelevski added a power-play marker in the opening 10 minutes of the game.

Melville replied with goals by Brendan Olson and Flynn Maxcy in the first half of the second period. Owen Barrow scored on a power play with less than two minutes to play in the middle frame and added another power-play marker in the third to give the Bruins a two-goal lead.

Colby Ball scored with the man advantage for Melville in the final minute, but that would be as close as the Mills would get.

The final 12 minutes of the game were marred by penalties, which meant minimal play at five-on-five.

Cam Hrdlicka made 29 saves for the Bruins, while Ethan Rau had 28 saves for Melville.

The Bruins (3-3-1) will be back on the ice Friday night when they host the Flin Flon Bombers at 7 p.m. It will be the first meeting of the two teams since last year's first round playoff series, which Flin Flon won in seven games.
