The Eagle Drilling Estevan Bruins won their 10th hockey game of the SJHL season last night at Notre Dame. The Bruins received two-goal efforts from both Ryan Andersen and Justin Waskewitch, while Ben Findlay added a goal and two assists in a 6-3 victory over the Red Wings.
With the score 1-0 for Notre Dame in the first period, Bruins captain Troy Hunter evened things up with a power play tally at the 10:06 mark.
Estevan wasted no time taking the lead in the second stanza. Andersen notched his first of the night just 47 seconds in. The Bruins scored twice more in the period when Waskewitch found the back of the net on the power play, and Findlay managed to get one by Hounds' goalie Russell Abbott while shorthanded.
The score read 4-3 for the Bruins at the start of the third period, where they added two more to seal the deal. Waskewitch made it 5-3 with his sixth goal of the year, followed by an empty netter by Andersen in the final minute.
With the win, Estevan improved their record on the season to 10-5-1-1. Their next action is this Saturday at 7:30 p.m. when they host the Humboldt Broncos at the Civic Auditorium.
