Estevan bodybuilder wins master division at Saskatoon event

Estevan's Dana Barlow took top spot in the master division at the Saskatchewan Novice Bodybuilding, Fitness, Figure and Bikini Championship held in Saskatoon on Saturday. He also finished second in the welterweight division.


Dana Barlow of Estevan won the men's master division at the Saskatchewan Novice Bodybuilding, Fitness, Figure and Bikini Championship held in Saskatoon on Saturday.

Barlow was one of five Estevan bodybuilders at the event, which serves as a qualifier for provincials on May 28.

This year's novice championship is believed to be the biggest Saskatchewan Amateur Bodybuilding Association event ever.

Barlow won the master category by receiving first-place votes from all seven judges at the competition, giving him a total of seven points.

He also took second in the men's welterweight division with 13 points.

Estevan's Joel Pasloski earned a fourth-place finish in the junior men category with a score of 35 points.
Melissa Schactel's score of 30 points gave her fifth place in the women's bikini short division.

Mia Rogg finished ninth in the same division with 60 points.

Kalita Block received 55 points, giving her a placing of ninth in the women's bikini tall category.
