The Estevan female Baxter midget A Cougars improved their record to 9-1-2 over the weekend with two home wins.
The Weyburn TS&M Oilers were at the Lignite Miners Centre to take on the Cougars on Friday evening. The two teams played a close game, but Estevan was able to come out on top 2-1 on the strength of goals by Shelby Betzema and Katie Cameron. Taelor Bayda was excellent in goal for the Cougars, making 23 saves.
On Saturday, Estevan hosted the Melville Miss Mils and were victorious 4-1. Lucia Lemieux scored twice for the Cougars, while Meagan Hamilton and Rayna Gibson each had singles. Amata Poirier earned the victory in goal.
