The Chargers lost in the league final a week ago but were still playing in the provincial finals starting last Friday night at the Civic. Playing the Swift Current Colts in a two-game, total-goals series, they fell behind in the first game.

Game one started well enough as Jessica Pele scored just 10 seconds into the first period. The Colts would fight back however, and had a 3-1 lead heading into the second.

The Chargers struggled to find the back of the net in the second period and the deficit was extended to three goals when the Colts scored again in the period.

The Chargers tried to mount a comeback in the third on a goal by Brooklyn Dukart on the power play, but that wouldn't be enough to push them past the Colts, who scored once more, making it a 5-2 hockey game.
Brianna Cote was in goal for the Chargers on Friday night.

Game two Sunday night in Swift Current was a low-scoring affair.

Again the Chargers found themselves with a first period lead when Taylor Colbow found the back of the net on the power play at the midway point.

In the dying seconds of the opening frame, the Colts knocked one past goaltender Tamara Irwin to leave the teams tied heading into the intermission.

The Colts took the lead halfway through the second period, and that was all they would need.

Irwin closed the door in the third, giving her team a chance, but again the Chargers had difficulty solving the goalie at the other end, losing 2-1.

In the league final, the Chargers forced a game three against the Prairie Storm. On March 22 they played on the road but came up just short losing 2-1 in overtime.
