Sunday March 18th was the club's Ice Carnival. The theme was Skating with the Stars. Attendance was great and the participating skaters did an awesome job.

We'd like to thank the guest skaters, Grace Smyth & Shelby Hall. They performed beautiful solos and are a great inspiration to the younger skaters. They were very entertaining - Great job girls!

The Carlyle Club started the skating season with 30 CanSkaters - 22 girls & 8 boys. Three CanSkaters graduated to SkarSkate this year - Taris Rae, Anna Doty & Brittany Rowe.

We now have 14 StarSkaters who successfully completed over 35 different tests. This year our skaters attended competitions in Minot, Carnduff, Esterhazy & North Battleford, as well as a SkarSkate Seminar in Saskatoon. Some of our skaters will also be attending spring school in Alameda.

The CanSkater of the Year award goes to Tyra Newell. She is a very energetic & determined CanSkater. She is always one of the first on the ice & she is prepared and ready to go. She never hesitates to try a new element or do what the coach asks. Tyra works hard & focuses on improving her skills. Her perfect attendance truly shows her love for the sport.

Our CanSkate Champion Awards go to Tiana Delalleau & Logan Romaniuk. These were difficult for the coach to pick, because everyone worked hard this year & they all deserve applause. These two were chosen because they display a "spirit of champion", demonstrating determination, discipline, perseverance, positive attitude & dedication.

Kacey Valentine has assisted with the CanSkaters this year & plans on taking her CanSkate Coach Training.

An extra special thank-you to our coach Dawn Dyer, from all the skaters & their parents! She did an amazing job with all the young skaters this year & made this a very successful season.

Thank-you to all the parents & volunteers who helped make the carnival a success. And another very important thank-you to our ice technician - Brent Stillwell. He does an amazing job all year long & we appreciate it very much!
