In league playoff action on Sunday night at the Civic the Apex midget AA Bruins lost game one of their best-of-three series against the Swift Current K-Motel Hurricanes.

The game went into overtime to decide the winner, but the Bruins were unable to finish off their opponent.
The goals came in bunches in the first three periods.

Dylan Herzberg scored for the Bruins in the first giving them the 1-0 lead, but that goal was quickly followed by the Hurricanes.

The teams exchanged penalties in the second frame but neither was able to gain an edge on the scoreboard, moving into the final period tied at 1-1.

The Bruins took another lead in the first five minutes of the third when Dylan Johner scored, but again the Hurricanes came back, this time only 15 seconds later to tie it back up 2-2.

Mark Moriarty made it 3-2 for the Bruins just past the halfway point of the third. Just 39 seconds later that lead was terminated.

Each team had six power plays during the game but neither could capitalize on the man advantage.
Having each lead quashed within seconds was enough to give the Hurricanes some momentum heading into the overtime period.

Three minutes in, a shot got past Bruins goaltender Nate Ferris, who stopped 18 of 22 on the evening.
Game two is Thursday on the road. If the Bruins win that game three will be back in Estevan on Saturday night at 7:30 at the Civic. The winner of this series will play in the league championship series.
