Bantam Cougars meet Pilot Butte in provincials

Jan.23 the Bantam Cougars traveled to Kipling to face the Royals. The Cougars were up 3-1 after the first period. Goals from Starr assisted by Turgeon, Turgeon assisted by Anderson and McCrimmon and Shaw assisted by Big Eagle.

Jan.23 the Bantam Cougars traveled to Kipling to face the Royals. The Cougars were up 3-1 after the first period. Goals from Starr assisted by Turgeon, Turgeon assisted by Anderson and McCrimmon and Shaw assisted by Big Eagle. Second period Jodi Black shut down the Kipling team while her team mates continued to stay strong offensively and add another three goals to their lead. Hengen scored on a pass from Drake Smith, McCrimmon found the back of the net with help from Anderson and Turgeon and Turgeon took a pass from Starr. Third period the Royals came back with two goals, but the Cougars sent one more home from Hengen assisted by Turgeon and Starr. Final score of the game was 7-3 Carlyle.

Jan.25 the team traveled to Lampman to square off against the Imperials. This was another strong game both offensively and defensively for the Cougars. The game was tied at two after the first. Second period the Cougars came out very strong and notched five goals to Lampman's one. Third period was much the same as the Cougars extended their lead by another four points. Final score 11-6 Carlyle.

Jan.29 was a home game against the Oxbow Huskies. Black played a great game in net, allowing the Huskies a single point in the second period. The Cougars were up by seven after the first and the final score was 10-1. Drake Smith and Marc Shaw each earned a hat trick this game!. Goals also from Anderson and Turgeon with assists going to Chalus, McCrimmon, Big Eagle, Riley Smith, Stigings, Shaw and D.Smith.

The Bantam Cougars are entering their first round of provincial hockey against Balgonie Prairie Storm. The first game will be played in Pilot Butte Jan.30 and the second game will be at Carlyle on Feb.6 @1:00.
