The 30th Annual Terry Fox Run at Kenosee Lake was a guge success raising $5000!
Kenosee Lake had about 50 enthusiastic participants this year, an awesome turnout on a beautiful day!
Starting from Club 19 (which was wrong in the paper last week for some reason saying Marie's Cafe) we did about a 6km walk which seemed to feel quite far for one little 'Terry Fox-er' who asked if we were walking to White Bear ha ha He persevered and decided to go all the way with us.
The Carlyle Coop had, once again, donated bottled water for us so we could stop half way and have a little refreshment before turning around and heading back to the Club 19 .
We paid our respects to Krisiti MacDonald's mom, Shirley MacDonald, who passed away this summer after a lengthy battle with cancer. For as long as I can remember Shirley always took part in our run here at Kenosee. It is always sad to lose a Terry's Team Member. A Terry's Team Member is someone who has had cancer and receives a special t-shirt from the foundation and is recognized as one of Terry's Team.
I also want to remember Erma McRae who also passed away last spring. She was a huge part of the Terry Fox Run and also a very dedicated Terry's Team Member as well as organized Kenosee's run for 10 years previous to me. We will always remember Erma for her involvement and dedication with Kenosee's run.
Wil Rolufs from Kenosee decided to sit this year's run out but when you're 93 you can do whatever you want! Ha ha We missed you Wil!
A shout out to the Carlyle's Spectra Credit Union for raising over $545 selling popcorn balls! That is a lot of popcorn balls! Great job and kudos to you all, thank you so much.
Thank you all for 小蓝视频 so dedicated to come out on this very special day every year, collect pledges, hold fundraiser's, etc to make a difference in Terry's memory.
You're all a very important part of our run and you would make Terry so proud.
Thank you everyone!
