The 2021 Federal Election will be held on Monday, September 20.
WEYBURN - Voters will be voting at three locations on Monday, Sept. 20, with polls open from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The voting locations in the city are McKenna Hall, the City Centre Mall (in the former gymnastics space) and at St. Michael School, in the gym.

People can check their voter information card for the location of the polling station. If you’ve received this card, you are registered to vote, and you need to bring the card with you to the polling station.

If you have not received the card, you may not be registered to vote, or your voter information may not be up to date.

To register and vote, you must be a Canadian citizen, be at least 18 years of age, and be able to prove your identity and address.

For identification purposes, voters can bring a driver’s licence or any other government-issued card with your photo, name and address on it. They can also bring two pieces of ID, both of which must have your name and one must have your address, such as a bank statement, utility bill or student ID card.

If you don’t have ID, you can still vote if you declare your identity and address in writing, and have someone who knows you and can vouch for you. The voucher must be able to prove their identity and address.

For those who vote at St. Michael School, a mask is required to enter the school facility. If a voter is unable or unwilling to wear a mask, the registration officer can issue a certificate enabling them to vote at mall location.

All Elections Canada workers are required to wear masks, sanitize and practice safe distancing.

The candidates running in Souris-Moose Mountain for the federal election are as follows: Robert Kitchen – Conservatives; Greg Douglas – Maverick; Hannah Duerr – NDP; Javin Ames-Sinclair – Liberals, and Diane Neufeld – PPC.
