If the constituents of Cypress-Hills Grasslands haven鈥檛 yet cast a ballot for the election during the advance polls, the last chance to do so will be on Monday, October 21. Assiniboian voters can choose their members of parliament and federal leaders at either the Kin Hut on 711 First Street West, or St. George鈥檚 Parish Hall at 325 Sixth Avenue from 7:30-7:30 p.m.

Voters are required to bring ID to their preferred voting stations. Elections Canada have advised Canadian citizens to choose either one of three options to prove their identities prior to voting. Whichever identification choices the voters prefer, it is advisable for people to bring the election cards mailed to them from Elections Canada along to their polling stations.

For option one, voters can show their driver鈥檚 licences, or any cards issued by a Canadian government office (federal, provincial, territorial or local) with their names, photos and current addresses. In the second option, voters can show two pieces of ID such their voter鈥檚 information cards, bank statements, utility bills and student ID cards. Other choices of identification in the second option are listed on the Elections Canada website, such as a band membership cards, birth certificates, Canadian citizenship cards (or certificates), Canadian Forces identity cards, Canadian passports and so on. For those without ID, they can still vote if they鈥檝e declared their identities and addresses in writing and have people who know them and are assigned to their polling stations who can vouch for them. According to Elections Canada, these vouchers must be able to prove their identities and addresses. Further, a person can vouch for only one person (except in long-term care institutions).

This federal election, Jeremey Patzer is representing the Conservative Party. William Caton is running for the Liberal Party in Cypress-Hills Grasslands. Bill Clary is the Green Party candidate for Assiniboia鈥檚 federal riding. Trevor Peterson is the New Democratic Party representative for Cypress-Hills Grasslands. Lee Harding is the People's Party of Canada candidate. Finally, Maria Lewans is running as an Independent in Canada鈥檚 2019 federal election.聽 聽
