Thefts and accidents result in investigations for police service

The accident, at the intersection of Cundall Drive and King Street, involved a vehicle that was exiting the parking lot near the Days Inn, making a left turn onto King Street at the same time a female pedestrian was crossing the street from the Boston Pizza restaurant. The vehicle struck the woman and the EPS members set up an investigation into the matter, later suggesting that charges under the Traffic Safety Act may be the result.

The injuries suffered by the pedestrian are not believed to be life threatening but she was transported to St. Joseph?s Hospital for treatment.

That same day police attended to a domestic dispute in the Westview area where one of the people involved in the dispute left the residence for a certain period of time and no further action was required.

A number of prank calls were 小蓝视频 looked into as well on April 21. The calls were 小蓝视频 made to local restaurants with someone ordering large amounts of food for delivery with costs varying from $100 to $460 at one restaurant. In some instances the food was prepared before it was discovered that there was no one or no place to deliver it to.

On the night of April 22, EPS members were called to a local lounge in response to a complaint of an altercation. When police arrived, they found one of the combatants outside so arrested him for 小蓝视频 intoxicated in public and lodged him in cells until he was sober.

A parent who was looking for her 13-year-old daughter received the assistance of EPS members that same night. The youngster was found and escorted home.

A 20-year-old man was removed from the roof of a business in the central business district on the night of April 22. The man advised police that he was simply bored and was looking for something to do. The matter remains under investigation.

That same night, emergency medical attendants along with EPS members were called to an apartment to check into an incident that suggested that a man had fallen down some steps. The 27-year-old man in question was found on the lawn. He informed police they had had intentions of spending the night at his friend?s apartment but did not have a key and did not wish to wake him so he had proceeded to climb up the balconies to get to the apartment unit. The railing on the top balcony broke free and the man fell to the ground, suffering some back injuries. He was transported to hospital for assessment and treatment.

On April 23 a 14-year-old Estevan youth was charged as a result of a home invasion in the Pleasantdale area of the city. The homeowner had returned to the residence shortly after 1 p.m. to find the intruder in the house. The suspect fled the scene with about $1,300 worth of video games which were subsequently recovered by police along the escape route. The suspect was arrested in his own residence later in the afternoon and charged with break, enter and theft.

A disturbance at a local lounge during the early morning hours of April 25 required police attention. The people involved in the altercation were separated and sent on their separate ways.

Shortly after that disturbance was concluded, police received a call regarding another one that had broken out at a local convenience store. Once again the matter was resolved with police intervention and the people were sent on their way.

Before too long a call from the same convenience store led to a second visit by police. This time the issue involved a male subject and a taxi cab. It was reported that something had been thrown at the cab, striking the vehicle?s roof. A 17-year-old man was detained at the scene and later given a ride home and released into the care of his parents while police opened an investigation into a possible wilful damage situation.

A noise complaint involving an all terrain vehicle in the city was looked into by police, but when they arrived in the area, no vehicle could be located.

A 23-year-old man was arrested for public intoxication on the night of April 24. He was lodged in cells until sober. It was noted that the man had been attending a function outside the city when his behaviour became a concern to his friends who drove him to the city and to the Police Service Building where he was taken into custody and monitored for his own safety.

A wilful damage report was also filed with EPS on April 24. The incident occurred in the 900 block of Fifth Street and police are requesting the public?s assistance in their investigative efforts. It was noted that two campers had windows broken during the night.

A disturbance in the central part of the city required police attention on the night of April 24. The complainant reported a number of people on bicycles who had been drinking and throwing objects around the area.

When police arrived they spotted four subjects and one subject, an 18-year-old man was arrested and charged with 小蓝视频 in possession of a controlled substance. Police found a small amount of marijuana while conducting their investigation. The man has a May 17 court date.
