小蓝视频 East Cornerstone School Division held a presentation of Technology Infusion Projects by several Weyburn and area teachers on May 20. The teachers were provided with grants by the division in order to incorporate new technology into their classrooms.
Weyburn Junior High School teacher Connie Arndt has been using the Senteo Response System in her Grade 9 math class since January. The system incorporates remote controls which students use to punch-in their answers to math problems 小蓝视频 observed by the class.Arndt said the system made for a risk-free environment for the students to present their answers, without fear of 小蓝视频 wrong in front of the entire classroom."I think that's important, especially for teens," said Arndt.Information supplied by the students is sent to a database which quickly shows the teacher which students got the answer correct and which ones did not. Arndt said that she could then speak with the children that are having problems privately, rather than drawing attention to their mistakes in front of the class."It was just a great tool and to have the students engaged was really exciting," said Arndt.Arndt said that her students found the new technology fun and easy to learn.Her students also used the Senteo System to create a survey and compile the data to receive a valid conclusion.Other presenters applied the Technology Infusion grant to incorporate video, photography and the Smart board into their classrooms.
