Public health is advising residents of a potential exposure to COVID-19 on one of the shuttle busses to the Roughrider opening game on Aug. 6.

REGINA — A second COVID-19 exposure warning has been issued in relation to the Saskatchewan Roughriders’ opening game on Aug. 6, this time in relation to the shuttle bus service to and from Mosaic Stadium.

The Saskatchewan Health Authority is advising that an individual who tested positive for COVID-19 was present on the Riders’ shuttle bus from Birmingham’s Vodka and Ale House to Mosaic Stadium on Aug. 6.

The individual was present on both the trip to the game at 6:30 p.m. and from the game at 11:30 p.m., sat near the front of the bus both ways.

Contact tracing is underway, but the SHA said that it will be difficult to locate all individuals present on the bus.

Anyone who may have been present and in contact with COVID-19 in this instance is encouraged to self-monitor for rising symptoms until at least Aug. 20, and self-isolate and seek testing immediately if any do appear.

SHA officials are also advising those who choose to ride a shuttle or bus in the future to take note of the shuttle or bus number and where you were sitting to aid potential contact tracing endeavours.

Officials are also asking that people consider wearing a face mask in buses and shuttles, to help reduce the risk of transmission.

The announcement follows a previous warning on Friday of a potential exposure in the Pil Country end zone section at the game.

HealthLine 811 is still available to contact, if you experience symptoms related to COVID-19.
