Premer Scott Moe's office responded with the following statement with regards to the March 31 decison for TC Energy to go ahead and start construction on the Keystone XL Pipeline, with the financial backing of the Government of Alberta:聽
"The Government of Saskatchewan is supportive of this project moving forward and creating jobs in Alberta and Saskatchewan. As part of our Pipeline Project Assessment Committee, we are actively reviewing mechanisms to further advance pipeline projects within Saskatchewan."
The pipeline will cut across the soutwest corner of Saskatchewan, crossing the U.S. border east of Monchy, Sask.聽
The Saskatchewan government, under Premier Scott Moe and former Premier Brad Wall, has been a staunch supporter of the project over the past decade.聽
