REGINA - If you bought your tickets for the Labour Day Classic at Mosaic Stadium by now, you got them just in time.
The Saskatchewan Roughriders announced on Thursday that their home game on Sept. 4 against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers is sold out. It will be the 57th annual matchup between the two longtime fierce rivals in the CFL.
Labour Day weekend will start with the return of Roughrider Fan Day, presented by Capital Auto Mall, on Saturday, Sept. 3 at Mosaic Stadium. Events start at 12 noon and running to 4 p.m. that day.
Fans will be able to see the Riders’ final practise of the week that day, and there will be special attractions for the family such as inflatables and face painting. Later, the Roughriders will hold a one-hour autograph session at 2 p.m. in the concourse.
Then on Sunday will be the big game, which marks the first Riders sellout of the season at Mosaic Stadium.
“The environment in Mosaic Stadium for the Labour Day Classic is absolutely electric,” said Roughriders President and CEO Craig Reynolds in a statement. “Rider Nation always sets the tone for the game, and we know our sold-out crowd will have a big impact when we go head-to-head with the Bombers.”
Those who missed out on tickets for the game aren’t totally out of luck; you can check for resale tickets on Ticketmaster. Also, tickets are still available for the final two Riders home games of the season: the Lights out Game on Sept. 16 and the 13th Fan Appreciation Game on Oct. 22.
