"I thought it was $2,000. I wasn't counting the zeroes."

Gwen Miller has won $200,000 on a scratch ticket.

REGINA — When Gwen Mills of Regina scratched her ticket at home, she thought she might have a winner but wasn’t sure. So, when she went to the local store to check her ticket, she wasn't expecting what happened next.

She'd won $200,000 on her Lucky Lines Extravaganza Zing ticket – the game’s top prize!

“I went to the store, and the screen lit up with some numbers. I thought it was $2,000,” she recalled. “I wasn't counting the zeroes. So, I asked the cashier who said ‘no, it's $200,000!’"

“I was in total shock,” she said, adding that she then walked out of the store to share the news with her- common-law husband.

“I've never won this much money in my whole life," she said while claiming her prize. “At times, I still can't believe I won!”

The happy winner plans to use her windfall toward bills and is thinking about putting some toward purchasing her mother's home.

Mills purchased her winning ticket, along with a few others, on May 4 at the Sherwood Co-op at 4705 Gordon Rd. in Regina.
