Regina police seize fentanyl, $21K in drug trafficking bust

REGINA — Regina police searched four residences in the city on Friday during a drug enforcement action, resulting in a large seizure of drugs and the arrest of seven individuals.

The Regina Police Service Drug Unit executed search warrants on March 4, in relation to an ongoing investigation into drug trafficking within the city.

Officers searched residences in the 1200 block of N Galloway Street, 4200 block of Castle Road, 1900 block of Reynolds Street and the 200 block of Smith Street.

As a result, police seized approximately 420 grams of cocaine, 100 grams of fentanyl and around $21,000 in currency. Police also found multiple cell phones, digital scales and other paraphernalia that could support trafficking activity.

Seven individuals were arrested during the warrant search, including three men from Edmonton and four men from different parts of Ontario.

All of the accused have been jointly charged with two counts of possession for the purpose of trafficking, for the cocaine and fentanyl, and one count of possessing process of crime over $5,000.

Three of the men were additionally charged with failure to comply with a release order.

One accused has been remanded into custody, and the remaining will make a first appearance in court on April 20.
