The Estevan Comprehensive School is playing host to a post-secondary education day today (Wednesday).
The event is billed as a mini-career fair that emphasizes the opportunities for Grade 11 and 12 students to consider the vast possibilities of post-secondary education.
There will be 25 information booths set up in the ECS library, plus presentations in individual classrooms throughout the day.
The one hour presentations may be made by individuals or panels of resource people from varying occupations.
ECS Grade 11 and 12 students will be assigned specific times to attend the events and displays and all students in the school are encouraged to visit the information booths during their respective lunch breaks.
Pat Fergusson, a teacher at ECS and part of the student services team, said resource people from Estevan and area as well as several representatives from post-secondary institutions in Saskatchewan, Manitoba, Alberta and North Dakota are participating in the events.
"At a time when many areas are experiencing labour shortages, it is especially important that we support our young people in their career search. PSE Day is a tremendous opportunity to showcase all that our community and province has to offer," said Fergusson in a prepared release.
