Report from the Weyburn Police Service for the period of January 23 to 30:
*On January 28, at approximately 11:15 p.m. police responded to a 911 call of an assault in progress at a Weyburn residence.
Upon arrival, police found a number of occupants in the house. One adult male was in medical distress and first aid was administered while Weyburn EMS attended. An adult female with serious injuries was found in the residence. Both the male and female were transported to the Weyburn General Hospital.
As a result of the investigation, police have been able to determine the following so far:
A dispute had erupted betweena 58-year-old female and 34-year-old Aaron Katschke of Weyburn.The male attacked thefemale causing serious injury to her.As a result of this, 32-year-old Jason Katschke of Weyburn,also present in the residence, came tothe aid of the female and stopped the attack on her. However, his actions continued with him committing a serious assault on the other male.
Aaron Preston Katschke was charged with one count of Attempted Murder, three counts of Breach of Probation, one count of 小蓝视频 Unlawfully at Large, and one count of Assault.
Jason Todd Katschke was charged with one count of Assault with a Weapon, one count of Assault Causing Bodily Harm, four counts of Breach of Probation, and two counts of Failing to Attend Court.
The female remains in hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries.Aaron Katschke was released from hospital the following day and remains in custody.
Aaron Katschke appeared in Weyburn Provincial Court on February 1 and has been remanded in custody for a 30-day psychiatric examination. He will appear back in Weyburn Court on March 1. Jason Katschke also appeared in Weyburn Provincial Court on February 1 and was remanded in custody to appear in Regina Court on February 3.
*Police charged a 39-year-old male with impaired driving.
*Police attended to a residential break and enter on the 300 block ofSixthStreet. Several doors were damaged before entry was gained to the house.A computer and television were stolen.
*On January 27, a snowmobile was apprehended in the downtown area. The owner was charged for operating an unregistered vehicle on a public street.
*On January 23, police attended a residential break and enter on the 1100 block of Park Avenue. A wallet was found inside the residence and $500 cash was stolen.
*Police attended to 113 calls during this reporting period.
