MOOSEJAWTODAY.COM -- It wasn’t long after the Moose Jaw Warriors won the Western Hockey League championship that ideas began to circulate on social media with regards to a mass viewing party for the big games ahead.
An initial idea to potentially rent out a Galaxy Cinema theatre or two didn’t pan out, but not long after, the largest venue in the city stepped up.
And now Warriors fans can once again gather to cheer on their team en masse at the Moose Jaw Events Centre.
A total of 800 tickets at $5 apiece will be sold for each of the three contests, which will be broadcast in the Moose Jaw Curling Centre. That includes Game 1 against Saginaw on Friday, May 24, Game 2 against London on Monday, May 27 and Game 3 against Dummondville on Tuesday. May 28.
All proceeds from ticket sales will go to the Moose Jaw and District Food Bank.
Food and beverage specials will include beef on a bun and a drink for $10, with draft beer, highball and can products going for $6 each. The Hog’D Rock cantine will also have popcorn, fountain drinks, chips and candy for sale.
Prize draws will take place throughout the game, including a grand prize of a pair of season tickets for the 2024-25 campaign.
Doors open at 5 p.m. each night, with puck drop at 5:30 p.m.
