MOOSOMIN — Dave Moffatt has a long history with the RM of Moosomin, beginning with his first taste of council in 2007. He eventually stepped into the deputy reeve position before becoming reeve in 2014, where he’s been ever since.
“I’m seeking re-election because I feel that the team of council and employees have succeeded in growing the RM and making it a leader in the municipal world,” he said.
Through his role as reeve, Moffatt has worked in collaboration with the Town of Moosomin and the Community Builders Alliance to bolster economic development in the area. As a result, businesses and individuals have flocked to the Moosomin area for work and a place to call home.
“The airport development has been a large scale project that’s involved the communication and collaboration of 18 municipalities, of which two are from Manitoba, even,” Moffatt explained. “To bring that project to ensure there’s a life saving transport for the ratepayers in our region, it’s pretty big. I’d like to see myself and council continue to work towards infrastructure replacement and upkeep, and finalization and completion of the airport project.”
With a decade of experience as reeve alone, Moffatt is confident in his abilities to lead for several years to come.
“I still have many things to offer the RM and ratepayers—continued development in the area, promotion of economic growth, which strengthens the area and brings new people to our area also,” he said. “To do a good job, you have to put the RM and the ratepayers first.”
Moffatt sees his time spend working through various boards as ‘having the privilege of’ serving instead of 小蓝视频 a role he’s forced to take on. He has served on the Healthcare Foundation, the Airport Development and Fundraising Committee, is an affiliate to the Community Builders Alliance, and listed the Economic Development Committee, the Gravel Committee, and the Fire Department Committee as 小蓝视频 groups he’s involved with.
