A new year may already be upon us, but a volunteer group of firefighters from Manor want to kindly remind people the calendars they're selling as a fundraiser are still available.
To encourage people to pick one up, they're offering an attractive incentive - the chance to win your calendar.
Every month for the entire year, one name will be drawn to win $25 - the cost of the calendar. Then, at the end of the year, all the names go into one large jackpot draw.
Want another incentive to pick up a calendar? If you take a close look, you may recognize a few of the faces through the 12-month calendar, as they feature a few of the Manor fire department's members in parody-style poses.
The members managed to sell half the calendars in the few weeks preceding Christmas, but with the new year begun, sales are somewhat slower. Since all money raised goes towards a good cause - the purchase of new equipment for the Manor fire department - its members hope to see the calendars sell out.
Calendars are available for $25 at The Observer in Carlyle, King's Department Store in Carlyle, Get It and Go Convenience in Manor, the village office in Manor or from any volunteer fire department member in the community.
