Lake Alma (cpd) - Garnet and Elaine Roysum took in the Riders football game in Regina on Oct. 9 and then went to Wilcox where they enjoyed Thanksgiving turkey supper at Shane and Lindsay Roysum's and their family. Also there for supper were James and Megan Fonstad and family of Oxbow, Lindsay's father, Leonard Van de Velde of Trossachs and Shawn Thue.
Garnet Roysum and son Cory left early Oct. 10 for Preeceville where they were guests of Blaine Lund to hunt for moose. Cory was successful in getting one.
Randy Larsen and friend Irene of Red Deer, Alta., arrived at his uncle's, Duane and Delores Larsen at Weyburn on Oct. 9. Joining them for supper that night were Mabel Larsen, Aurilla Skjonsby, Brandon Lohse of Weyburn and Myrna and Roy Lohse of Beaubier. Randy and Irene went to the Lohse's that evening and were joined by Duane and Delores Larsen and Brandon Lohse of Weyburn and Melissa Lohse of Lake Alma for Thanksgiving turkey dinner on Sunday. Randy and Irene left for home on Monday.
On Oct. 1, Judy Hoimyr traveled to Regina to pick up her parents, Tom and Joyce Mackintosh, who had taken the bus from Nipawin. While at Gladmar, they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary with a family supper. Pearl and Alvern Hoimyr also attended. They enjoyed visiting with their grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Tom and Joyce returned to Nipawin on Oct. 5, and just missed the birth of their seventh great-grandchild. Born to Lee Ann and Ivan Odland of Weyburn on Oct. 6, was a boy, Tyler Lyle. He tipped the scales at seven pounds 11 ounces and is a baby brother for Shawn. Grandparents are Lyle and Judy Hoimyr of Gladmar and Denis and Joan Odland of Vauxhall, Alta.
Clare and Ida Offet traveled to Regina on Oct. 10 where they had turkey Thanksgiving dinner with Suzanne Brown, Craig and Charmaine Offet and Courtney, Darcie, Janessa, and Carson Bell, and Ryan Travena and Abby. Clare, Ida and Suzanne visited with Curtis at the Pasqua Hospital that evening as he had been admitted that morning. Deena and their children had Thanksgiving with her parents, Marg and Harold Blackmore and family members. The Offets returned home that evening and then went back to Regina on Oct. 13 and got Curtis as he was discharged from hospital the day before and took him home to Moosomin. They stayed overnight and returned home to Weyburn on Oct. 14.
Ashley Haider, daughter of Mark and Debra Haider of Tisdale, and Chris Wiser of Saskatoon were married at St. Paul's Cathedral in Saskatoon on Oct. 8 with the reception and dance 小蓝视频 held at the Western Development Museum. Gift opening was held there the next day. The bride and groom are both employed in Saskatoon and will make their home in Martensville where they have built a new house.
Funeral service was held for Mabel "Peggy" Lohse, who passed away at Estevan on Oct. 8 at the age of 79 years, from Grace United Church in Weyburn on Oct. 13 with Rev. Mohandas Barnabas officiating, with interment at Green Acres Memorial Gardens at Weyburn.
Peggy is survived by her son, Kenneth, of Prince Albert, son Wade (Sheila) Lohse, Beaubier, and their children, Sandy, Wade and Garnet Buettner, and Karen (Terry) McKenzie; son Adrian, Beaubier; daughter Sheila (Norman) Melby, Estevan, and their children Nicole, Greg (Tanya), Danielle, David, Joni, Jonathan and Michael Melby; daughter Judy (Robert) Fradette, Lake Alma, and their children Jason (Stephanie) Fradette, Gerald (Amanda) Fradette and Jenna (Russell) Marcotte; great grandchildren Nevaeh Melby, Heidi, Amy, Andrea Fradette, Kaily and Zander Fradette, Emily and Zachary Marcotte; sister, LaVine Rivard; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Casler, Kay Casler, Norma Lohse, Beryl Lohse and Edna Lohse, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Jean Petersen, a resident of Tatagwa View Nursing Home fell and broke her hip a couple weeks ago. She was taken to Regina for surgery and is now back in Weyburn General Hospital where she is receiving therapy daily. Jean returned to Tatagwa View on Oct. 15.
