Noted as one of the many treasures in the region, the Kenosee Lake Kitchen Party is back once again! This year, the Kitchen Party is following the same format as last year with the addition of the kids' camp.
Located at the Kenosee Lake Boys and Girls camp, the music camp includes five days of music, musicians, and dynamic teachers. Combined with students that are excited about learning and willing to work towards excellence means a successful weekend for all involved.
The daily program includes workshops and instruction from some of Saskatchewan's top musicians, as well as an opportunity for students to spend some time jammin' and performing in concerts. The music camp is not all work and no play as students spend some of their time at the campfire, have free time during the day and partake in the Pig n' Whistle.
Last year, the camps were a hit with more than 125 students in attendance. The camps scheduled throughout the upcoming month kick off with the kid's camp from July 30 to Aug 2.
The traditional Week One and Week Two camps will be held during the weeks of Aug 5 to 9 and Aug 16 to Aug 20 respectively. Along with these two weeks, comes the public's chance to take in a concert or two. Concerts will be held every evening during the two camp weeks at 7 pm. Cost of admission is $8 or $25 for the week pass. Those looking for a family excursion can catch an earful of the talent at the camp for a cost of $25.
Regardless of your ability, if you are interested in learning more and participating in this year's camp, you are encouraged to contact camp organizer Michelle Amy. At this point, the camp is still accepting participants as space allows. But remember, classes fill up quickly, so if you are interested in a particular instrument, you are encouraged to sign up to ensure your place at the camp.
