Junior B Rebels shake-up the Westleys then send them packing

The Junior B Rebels hopped back onto the course on their initial weekend game at home, reversing a recent losing streak by defeating the Westleys with a neat result of 6-2 in favour of Assiniboia on Saturday, October 19.

Last week, the Rebels met the Saskatoon Royals at the Assiniboia Civic Centre Arena and were steamrolled by a 9-1 victory for the Saskatoon team on Sunday, October 13. Another triumph slipped by the Rebels on October 17 in Regina, when the Assiniboia team played Regina鈥檚 Silver Foxes at the Doug Wickenheiser Arena and lost 1-2.

But the Junior B Rebels showed their mettle last Saturday night after playing the Westleys with unified force. The Rebels pushed their way through the defences held by the Westleys at the bottom of the first, with Tyde Hutchinson cutting one through the net at 5:56 with help from Cayden Price and Dawson Diekrager. The Westleys fought back with a goal of their own at 3:51, only to have this short-term success quickly obliterated by the Rebels at 3:23 with goal by Reese Rutko, aided by Alex Hicks and Cayden Price.

The second period continued with more domination from the Rebels with an assisted goal by Swift Current rookie, John Priela, at 14:07, with backup from Alex Hicks and Cayden Price. At 12:22, the Rebels were still pouring on the heat as Riley Skarbon scored another zinger with backing from Hunter Johnson and Dawson Diekrager. The embattled Westleys resurfaced at 5:14 with another goal as the second period came to a close, but enough damage had already been against the Saskatoon team. Indeed, the Westleys had failed to regain any kind of advantages against Assiniboia during the third period.

The 小蓝视频ern Rebels started the last period in top fashion with a goal by Jordan Johnson from Tyde Hutchinson at 14:33. Then just as the end of the third drew nearer, Reese Rutko notched an unassisted beauty into the Westley鈥檚 net at 2:46. But the entire weekend didn鈥檛 go as planned for the Rebels, who met Fort Knox during Sunday afternoon at the Assiniboia Civic Arena and were soundly whipped with a finish of 2-7 in favour of the visiting team.听 听听听听听听听听听听听听听听
