On April 19 at 10:30 p.m., members of the Carlyle RCMP detachment and the Kenosee Volunteer Fire Department and the White Bear First Nations Fire Crew attended to a residence on the White Bear First Nations. When fire crews arrived on the scene, the residence was fully engulfed in flames. Most of the residence was consumed by fire. Once the fire subsided, a body was located in the residence.
At this time, fire examiners from the RCMP and the Fire Commissioners office have been on scene to search for a cause. Members from the Yorkton Forensic Identification section and Major Crimes will also be investigating. The investigation is on-going.
