Communities in the area are in a good place when it comes to physician recruitment in the past few months. Whereas only a year ago communities were crying out for doctors to come and work in places like Arcola and Redvers, for example, they're now praising the efforts by local recruitment committees, who have put in countless hours to attract physicians.
Of course, these committees would not have been able to operate as successfully as they have without support from the local people, who donated funds which have been used to entice health care professionals to set up practices in this corner of the province.
In order to raise some of those needed funds, Moose Mountain Health Care Recruitment Committee, the group which works to attract doctors to the Arcola and Carlyle areas, is presenting Applause! Feast and Folly performing Don and Debby do the 70s at Prairie Place Hall in Arcola on Oct. 16.
The committee is hoping many people will come out to enjoy the evening entertainment, especially knowing they will be supporting such a great cause.
Don and Debby do the 70s is bound to have everyone laughing in their seats.
So who are Don and Debby and how exactly do they "do the 70s?"
Don and Debby are impersonators. And for this show, Don does John Travolta and Debby does Olivia Newton-John. Together they work as one "well-greased" machine. They are about to make it big with their impersonations as they hit the big-time impersonator circuit in a huge tribute to the 70s. So be prepared to see John, Olivia, Dolly, Sonny, Cher and the whole works for one night only, in Arcola.
The evening starts in Arcola at 6 p.m. with cocktails and is then followed by a dinner from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. Then Don and Debby take the centre stage at 8:15 p.m. for an evening that will surely bring the audience back in time.
Tickets are only available in advance, so remember to get yours early. They are selling for $40 each, or people can purchase a corporate table of eight for $300.
Members of the Moose Mountain Health Care Recruitment Committee are strongly encouraging people to come out, as all proceeds go to the committee and to help with further recruitment efforts.
