The Griffin Rec Board held their last meeting on Oct. 4, and made plans for their annual trade show.
The Playground Committee has been very busy and the Griffin Centennial Park is looking great. The new sign is up waiting to be painted and the new picnic tables and benches have been assembled, but are not yet in place.
Michelle Staples has brought some new life to the Rec Centre with her jazz and tap dance lessons taking place every Monday night.
The Rec Board is looking for someone to volunteer or hire at a reasonable price to finish installing the metal siding on the back of the building. Please contact Suzanne Stomp if you are interested in helping out.
The Fundraising Committee has been very busy planning some upcoming events. The annual Griffin Trade Show will take place on Saturday, Nov. 6, from 7 p.m. until 10 p.m. at the Rec Centre. Come out to enjoy the potluck appetizers, cash bar, door prizes, and get started on some Christmas shopping. This year there will also be trays of Christmas baking available for purchase.
The annual Grey Cup Party and Chili Cook-Off will be held on Sunday, Nov. 28. Entries will need to be dropped off at the Rec Center by 4 p.m. Come enjoy the game on the big screen and have a few beverages to wash down your chili.
