Blake Berglund, Chris Henderson, Jess Moskaluke are set to take to the stage at the Carlyle Theatre on Dec. 5, as part of their 'Grassroots & Cowboy Boots' tour which has them playing at a number of venues throughout the prairies.
These artists may sound familiar as two of them, Berglund and Henderson, are from Kennedy and Estevan respectively. While the artists have developed their careers individually, they have decided to join forces to provide audiences throughout the prairies with a two-week musical tour that offers different musical stylings.
"The three of us each corner a different area in the Country music genre," said Berglund. "Chris, Jess and myself have been friends for quite some time and with each of us approaching our careers on an independent level, we felt that creating an opportunity to perform for each other's self-gained audiences would benefit substantially in our own careers."
"It was initially spoken of to have a Regina show but [with all of] the preparation that goes into learning each other's songs and spending time creating a show, we figured we'd take advantage of the efforts and embark on a two-week prairie tour."
"The show in Carlyle came along as a natural step - I'm originally from Kennedy, SK and Chris is originally from Estevan, SK. I performed to an excellent crowd a few months ago at the 8 Words Cafe and was up for the challenge to sell out a larger venue in the area - there's a nice little buzz going around about the acoustics in Carlyle's Theatre so we figured it would be the perfect spot for a south eastern stop."
"With the vocal abilities of Chris and Jess, they please a mainstream listening audience, where as I play to more of a roots crowd. We all have our love towards the 'old stuff' but especially with Jessica's success via YouTube, she's on top of what's 小蓝视频 broadcast to the Mainstream market."
As for what the audience can expect from the artists? "We will be backing each other up on a number of each other's songs and then joining together for a set of covers with strong three part harmonies. But above all else, we have an excellent chemistry on and offstage which will be quite apparent to the listener."
