Last week, the grade 7 and 8 classes had the opportunity to attend the Inter-School Pow-wow at Whitebear. The students were treated to an amazing display of dancing and drumming. The students were all very impressed. They were also excited that this year's Bear Claw Princess is Tori Strongeagle.
The students and staff of G.F. Kells would like to send out appreciation to Elder Joan McArthur who has been working in the school this year. Her support, advice, and wisdom are certainly appreciated.
On Wednesday, May 18th the Gordon F. Kells' track and field team competed at the track meet in Carnduff. Despite some concerns over the quality of the track and field conditions, due to the flooding in the area, it was a great event! The students had perfect weather to compete in and our athletes did an amazing job! Although the season was cut short this year, the coaches are pleased with the quality athletes they will have the opportunity to work with in the future. The results from the Carnduff Meet are as follows:
Pee Wee Boys: Talen King 3rd in 400m, 5th in 800m, 2nd in triple jump
Kyle Sargent 1st in 800m, 2nd in 1500m, 1st in high jump, 1st in triple jump

Taylor Currie 8th in 100m, 1st in long jump
