Gordon F. Kells High School Cougar Corner

Last week was a busy one. On Thursday, report cards went home. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact your child's teacher or the school. On Friday, the Student Council held the school's Valentine's Day Dance.

On Friday, the Student Council held the school's Valentine's Day Dance. The students had a great time dancing and socializing. There were giant screens, giant hearts, laser lights, deafening music, and even a Macarena dancing contest. Thank you to all the staff and parents who chaperoned.

The G.F. Kells Drama Club continues to meet Monday evenings at 7:00. The plays have been cast and the cast and crew are excited about the Regional Festival in the spring.

Badminton has started. Juniors will practice on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 till 5:00. Senior practices are on Thursday evenings.

Curling continues on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3:30 - 5:00. Some curlers are coming one day and others are coming both days. The Senior Girls' Team will be curling in Arcola or Lampman on Feb. 14 and 15. Juniors will be in Weyburn on March 10 and 11. Anyone wanting to compete should keep these days open. Curlers who are interested in attending the Ford World Championships in Regina in April should get their permission slips to Mrs. Beaver as soon as possible.

Students who have signed up for the ski trip will be heading to Asessippi Ski Resort on Friday, February 11th. Regular classes continue in all grades for all other students.

The 2 new virtual signs have arrived. These signs will not only act as a beacon for students to find their way to school, but they will also keep students informed about upcoming school events and dates. Anyone who is interested in advertising on these signs should contact Mr. Howe at the school.
