Appreciation to all of those who supported our school in the Magazine Campaign. The winner of the laptop was Marissa Owens.

Mrs. Beaver and the Rookie Boys' Volleyball Team were busy with games against Bellegarde and Moosomin this week. Mr. Birch and the Intermediate Girls' Team won the silver medal in a tournament in Carnduff and Bre Slykhuis and the Senior Girls' Team competed in a tournament in Holdfast.

If anyone has taken pictures of GFK students at the recent golf tournaments, volleyball practices or games, or cross-country races could you please email them to Melissa Sweet at [email protected] so the pictures can be included in the 2011-2012 yearbook. The 2010/2011 yearbooks will be available in mid-November.

The Student Council wants to remind everyone that muffins are sold for $1 every day in the hall at first break. They also want to tell students that Spirit Week will be the last week of October. Monday, Oct. 24th, is PJ Day, Tuesday is Twin Day, Wednesday is ER Day (dress as someone or something that ends in "er"), Thursday is Jersey Day, and Friday is Bright Day. Monday, October 31st, is Halloween. Students should dress up all 6 days to show their school spirit.

The male members of the high school staff will be helping to raise funds for prostate cancer research by participating in a Movember Moustache Growing Contest.
