It is hard to believe that we are finished half of a school year already. On Monday, January 31, the students at G.F. Kells will be starting a new semester. For many of the students, this means new classes and a new timetable.
Curling continues on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 3:30 - 5:00. Some curlers are coming one day and others are coming both days. The Senior Girls' Team will be curling in Arcola or Lampman on Feb. 14 and 15. The juniors will be in Weyburn on March 10 and 11. Anyone wanting to compete should keep these days open. Curlers who are interested in attending the Ford World Championships in Regina in April should get their permission slips to Mrs. Beaver as soon as possible.
The G.F. Kells Drama Club continues to meet Monday evenings at 7:00. They are looking forward to the Regional Festival in the spring.
"The birds are back in town, the birds are back in town"at least they are back in the G.F. Kells gymnasium. Badminton has started for the juniors and seniors.
Students who have signed up for the ski trip will be heading to Asessippi Ski Resort on Friday, February 11th. Hopefully the weather will cooperate.
Gordon F. Kells will be offering the opportunity for students in Grade 10, 11, and 12, and their parents to travel to California during Easter Break 2012. Students and parents who are interested would be responsible for paying for the trip since we would not be doing any sort of fundraising. On the trip we would be seeing San Francisco, Santa Barbara, and Los Angeles with the possibility of extending the trip to San Diego and an optional excursion to Alcatraz Island. The deadline to sign-up for this trip is Feb. 4. Please contact Miss Down at the school for any other information.
