December is here and holidays are just around the corner. The last day of school is Tuesday, December 21. Students return to school on Thursday, January 6, 2011, which is a Day 6 in the cycle.

The annual Mosaic Meal will be on Tuesday, December 21. Different classes are in charge of bringing different food items. Grade 7/8 Section 1 will bring Chinese food, Grade 7/8 Section 2 will bring Mexican food), Grade 7/8 Section 3 will bring Italian Food, Grade 9 will bring Ukrainian food, Grade 10 will bring appetizers, and Grade 11's and 12's will bring desserts. Please bring the food to the school's front entrance between 11:15 and 11:45AM. All food items should be ready to serve.

Last weekend, the students worked hard getting the G.F. Kells Float ready for the Dickens Festival Parade. They also enjoyed riding on the float on Friday and Saturday nights. Thanks to Mr. Will for making this possible.

The holidays are a time of giving and G.F. Kells is again collecting non-perishable food items for the Food Bank. The class with the most food donations (per capita) will eat first at the Mosaic Meal.

Our first order of Cougar Clothing has been delayed since we are still waiting for some sample sizing clothes. We apologize, but we want to make sure we satisfy our enthusiastic group of students. As a result, we will not be putting in our first order until samples have arrived. Hopefully it will be in the next week or two. We will keep our student body informed of all the details and please keep checking with us if you want something ordered. Thanks for your patience.

Along with the school, the Student Council is fundraising in order to purchase two virtual information signs. We are looking for sponsorship with the potential for advertising on these high tech signs. Anyone interested should contact Mr. Howe at the school.
