Mr. Birch and Ms. Sweet have Track and Field underway with both morning and after school practices. Hopefully, things will dry up soon. On Saturday, May 14, the track club attended an invitational meet in Weyburn. Mr. Birch took Jaelei Meyer, Katie Matthewson, Ty Currie, Brody Slykhuis, and Branden Lequyer to this event. They all had great performances and Branden ended up taking 3rd in the Junior Boys' 400 m race. The first Division Meet is in Carnduff on Wednesday, May 18. Good luck G.F. Kells Track and Field Team.
The G. F. Kells Drama Club was in Regina for the May 14 weekend to attend the Provincial Drama Festival. At the festival, they had an opportunity to check out 11 great plays from all around the province. The students enjoyed the plays, the socializing with other drama enthusiasts, and the Friday night Festival Dance. I'm sure that their ears are still ringing.
At the Michael Jackson Wii Experience on Wednesday at lunch, Ty Currie "got served" by Mr. Zacharias. Ty subsequently challenged Mr. Zac to a free-style dance off. More details will follow. Still, Ms. Down demonstrated again why she is still the staff reigning champ. Next week, Mr. Laforet will strutt his stuff!
