MOSSBANK - The Town of Mossbank and the community group 鈥闯耻蝉迟颈苍蝉补苍别鈥 joined forces to sponsor a barbecue at the local firehall to honour the town鈥檚 contingent of 12 dedicated volunteer firefighters held on Nov. 18.
鈥淚t was basically an event created to help raise funds for the Fire Department, and show our appreciation for our first responders' many years of dedicated service to our community,鈥 said Mayor Brian Howe in an interview.
鈥淭he Fire Department is always in need of better equipment, so this event was created, In part, to help them with their needs,鈥 he added.
鈥淭his town has a rich history of volunteers and people stepping up to the plate to get things done whenever necessary. We鈥檙e very proud of all our volunteers. Because of them, this town is a such a great place to live鈥, Howe concluded.
The barbecue and fundraising event was used as an opportunity to formally honour and recognize a wonderful new community-minded couple who recently moved to Mossbank from British Columbia and have given countless hours of their time and money to help beautify 惭辞蝉蝉产补苍办鈥檚 main street.
鈥淭heir hard work and dedication are truly remarkable and deeply appreciated鈥, said the mayor.
鈥淭his faithful couple, preferring to remain behind the scenes and quietly anonymous,鈥 whispered Howe, 鈥渉ave been highly instrumental and largely responsible for advancing the Main Street Revitalization project, and beautifying our little town."
Mayor Howe hinted at an upcoming announcement of a forthcoming major expansion project by the Town of Mossbank, but would not go into details at this time.
