Update: Snowfall warnings continue for Cypress Hills area

SASKATCHEWAN – The snowfall warning for the Cypress Hills area continues.

Environment Canada says total snowfall accumulations Friday through Saturday evening will likely be 15 to 25 cm, followed by an additional 10 to 20 cm on Saturday through Sunday evening.

Locally higher accumulations are possible over parts of the Cypress Hills; the worst hit areas could see 30 to 50 cm of snow.

This snow will taper off through Sunday night into Monday morning, says Environment Canada.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.

Travel is not recommended. If you must travel, keep others informed of your schedule and destination and carry an emergency kit and mobile phone. Public Safety Canada encourages everyone to make an emergency plan and get an emergency kit with drinking water, food, medicine, a first-aid kit and a flashlight.
