Estevan police warn public about increase in thefts involving vehicles and bicycles

Thieves have been walking through neighbourhoods, trying vehicle door handles hoping to find an unlocked vehicle.

The Estevan Police Service is reminding the public to secure vehicles and bicycles.

ESTEVAN - The Estevan Police Service is asking the public to lock their vehicles when leaving them unattended. 

The EPS says there have been several reports of unlocked vehicles 小蓝视频 entered recently. It is also a good idea to remove any valuables from the vehicle, especially those in plain sight.

Thieves walk through neighbourhoods, the EPS said, trying vehicle door handles hoping to find an unlocked vehicle.

"The best way to prevent vehicle burglaries is to remove all of your valuables, lock your vehicle’s doors upon exiting and take the keys with you inside your residence," the EPS said in a news release issued Tuesday night. 

Police have also seen an increase of bicycle thefts in the city. Police are asking the public to secure their bikes inside their yard, outdoor storage shed or garage. Several bikes were located in areas of the city.

Also on Tuesday, police received a report of a suspicious person at a local business. Members are still investigating.

Officers also received several calls to keep the peace where individuals were moving their items out of a residence. Members attended and mediated a resolution for the night.
