The Estevan Police Service has had a number of calls in recent days.

ESTEVAN - The Estevan Police Service is reminding the public to be aware of scams.

Police received an attempted scam complaint on Thursday. An Estevan individual received a call indicating they won a STARS Air Ambulance lotto prize. The prize was for a vehicle and $250,000 in cash. In order to claim the prize, the winner had to put a deposit down of $8,500.  No money was exchanged.

Police remind the public that you don’t have to pay money to receive your winnings on lotteries. If they are requiring money from you to claim your prize, it is a scam. Please exercise caution when speaking to people and sharing your personal information.

Police also attended to a collision at a four-way stop in the Hillside area. There were no injuries but one of the vehicles required a tow truck. The driver of the one vehicle was charged under the Traffic Safety Act.

The EPS was out for the Estevan Comprehensive School’s Grad Parade on Saturday. The EPS led the parade and provided traffic control. Graduates rode on the back of flat-bed trucks.

Police received a call through the Report Impaired Drivers line. The vehicle was located parked at the parade. The driver was checked and it was determined he was not impaired.

Officers received a second RID call. The vehicle was reported to be coming into Estevan from the west on the highway. The vehicle was located and the driver provided a sample of his breath, which passed.

Police received a report of a suspicious person and vehicle. Members were able to locate the individual in question and there was no concern.

Officers received a report of a dirt bike driving around in the Westview area. Police attended and were unable to locate the dirt bike or rider.
