UPDATE: Environment Canada has lifted the frost advisory that was issued for much of southern Saskatchewan on Wednesday.

REGINA - Environment Canada has issued a frost advisory for portions of southern and eastern Saskatchewan, including the Regina, Moose Jaw, Estevan, Weyburn, Carlyle, Assiniboia and Moosomin areas.
Accoriding to the advisory, issued at 3:30 p.m., a ridge of high pressure will lead to clearing skies and light winds, allowing temperatures to drop below the freezing mark Wednesday night across eastern Saskatchewan.
Frost is likely to be patchy in nature, the advisory states.
"Frost may damage some crops in frost-prone areas," according to Environment Canada.
Regions outside the frost advisory, such as over western Saskatchewan, will carry a risk of frost, as temperatures fall to 1 or 2 C under slightly windier conditions.
"Cover up plants, especially those in frost-prone areas. Take preventative measures to protect frost-sensitive plants and trees," Environment Canada said.
Frost advisories are issued when temperatures are expected to reach the freezing mark during the growing season, leading to potential damage and destruction to plants and crops.
