Time to break out a top hat, the Dickens Village Festival is right around the corner.
Friday and Saturday, Dec. 3 and 4, Carlyle will do the time warp again, and dive back into the days of Dickensian elegance.
The schedule for the Dickens Village Festival will see events beginning on the morning of Friday, Dec. 3, with the opening of Fezziwig's Pub, in Memorial Hall on Main Street at 11:00 a.m.
Besides spirits and goodies, Fezziwig's Pub will be hosting live entertainment throughout most of the festival.
At 1:30 p.m. that most hat-full event, the High Tea will begin at the Carlyle United Church.
At 2 p.m. the English Market will be open for business, and the carriage rides around the town will be starting up.
Just in time to satisfy those evening dinner urges, the food vendors will be hitting the streets at 4:30 p.m.
With an early sunset, the night air will be filled with bright colours as the annual Lighted Parade takes place at 6:00 p.m. and follows a route up and down Main Street.
Finally at 7:00 p.m. the doors will open for the Cornerstone Theatre players production of 'A Cornerstone Christmas Carol,' an homage to Charles Dickens' classic, 'A Christmas Carol.'
The schedule for Saturday, Dec. 4 follows much the same schedule with one exception.
The English Market will be opening its doors to visitors at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
The Dickens Village Festival is also holding a contest to see which home or business will do the best job of dressing their building up for the season.
There are several categories under which each building can compete.

We'll see you soon!
