This is the first year for Marley's Dance Effex to be in Carlyle or the Carlyle Area. The club has had a very successful first year with the dancers having the option of taking dance classes in tap, jazz, ballet and hip hop (musical theatre was offered but time did not permit). In the upcoming weeks, these dancers will be attending competitions in Ogema (Mar 25-26), Regina (Mar 31-Apr 3) and (Weyburn Apr 8-10). The year-end recital will be held in May. Keep an eye out for ads in the local Observer.

Background: Marley Brown lives in Weyburn, has danced for 22 years and taught for 8 years. She is a member of the Canadian Dance teachers Association Stage Tap, and an Associate Member Stage Jazz. She has completed all her CDTA Jazz, Tap and Ballet exams and numerous ADAPT exams. Marley has her own club and store in Weyburn and when she was approached about starting a club in Carlyle she was able to hire Kelsey Baker to come in from Regina to teach classes. Kelsey also has 22 years experience in dance, has completed numerous exams with the CDTA and RAD and teaches in Montmartre and Cupar.

Marley and Kelsey would like to say that they have enjoyed Carlyle, have appreciated all the assistance getting the club started and are very excited to see the dancers perform and show their hard work at the competitions and on May 6th at the home town recital.
