The GFK students are warding off the winter blues by staying active in extra-curricular activities at school.
Badminton continues with junior practices on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:30 to 5:00. The Rookies and Juniors will have their playoffs on May 7. Please contact Miss Down or Mr. Zacharias if you have any questions. Senior Badminton is currently underway. Practices are scheduled for Thursdays from 6:30 to 8:00, but additional practices will be added in the coming weeks. For more information in regards to Senior Badminton please call Mr. Fehrenbach at 453-2500 (school).
Junior Curling Playoffs are in Weyburn on March 10 and 11. There are two boys' teams and a girls' team competing. The Junior Girls' Team consists of Desiray Weber, Brooklyn Zacharias, Kacey Valentine, Renae Fafard, and Emily Klatt. The Junior Boys' Teams consist of Kyle Sargeant, Dalton Loustel, Jory Dyck, and Kirk Zacharias on one team and Gavin Walters, Keston Zandee, Andrew Kehler, and Nathan Schmidt on the other.
On April 5, Mrs. Beaver and many members of the GFK Curling Teams are heading to Regina to see the Ford World Men's Curling Championship. The students are excited to have the opportunity to see this level of curling.
The G.F. Kells Drama Club continues to meet Sunday evenings at 5:30 and Monday evenings at 7:00. The two plays they will be presenting this year are Anonymous and For Whom the Tinkerbell Tolls. The cast and crew are excited about the Regional Festival in April.
The California Trip is offering $50 for anyone who joins before March 15. Enrolment has been limited to 24 people; so be sure to get signed up quickly!
