The carbon capture and storage (CCS) facility at SaskPower鈥檚 Boundary Dam Power Station captured 68,277 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) during the month of April.

The average daily capture when CCS was online was 2,333 tonnes per day with a peak one-day capture of 2,473 tonnes. Production rates have been reduced as result of plugging that has caused restrictions in the flue gas flow path. This issue will be resolved in the upcoming maintenance outage planned to start in June.

The amount of CO2 captured was 70.2 per cent of capacity, compared to the previous 12-month average of 63.5 per cent.

The CCS facility experienced one brief outage stemming from plugging of a key process pipeline. The issue was rectified, and facility was returned to service. The facility was online 94 per cent of the time in April, after 小蓝视频 online 85 per cent of the time the previous 12 months.

A total of 260,737 tonnes of CO2 have been captured in the first four months of this year. Since the CCS facility went online in October 2014, 4,071,284 tonnes of CO2 have been captured.
