Camping season to continue in provincial parks until Sept. 30

With campsites available in nearly all Saskatchewan Provincial Parks until September 30, 2020, campers can extend the season into the fall with access to most amenities and services.

鈥淎s the weather starts to cool and the parks are quieter, it鈥檚 the perfect time to get out and experience the beauty of camping beyond the summer months,鈥 Parks, Culture and Sport Minister Gene Makowsky said.听鈥淲ith a late start to the camping season this year, we are looking forward to seeing many campers out enjoying the parks this September.鈥澛

For those who have packed away camping equipment or are looking for a unique way to enjoy a fall getaway, Camp-Easy equipped campsites are a great option.

Camp-Easy sites are available throughout September at Blackstrap, Good Spirit Lake, Great Blue Heron, Narrow Hills, Meadow Lake, Echo Valley, Buffalo Pound and Douglas.

Camp-Easy sites typically include six cots, six camp chairs, fire pit, picnic table, outside shelter, camp stove with propane, fire pit, wash bin and axe.

The following businesses have confirmed they will continue to operate as follows:

Open until mid-September: Waves Ice Cream and Mini Golf 鈥 Duck Mountain Provincial Park. Cypress Hills General Store 鈥 Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park.

Open until September 30: Squirrely Putt and Play 鈥 Buffalo Pound Provincial Park. Fresh Trails Mountain Bike Skills 鈥 Buffalo Pound Provincial Park. Cypress Hills Golf Course 鈥 Cypress Hills Interprovincial Park.听

Visitors are reminded to hold onto their 2020 Saskatchewan Provincial Parks Annual Entry Permit, as they are valid until April 30, 2021.听

Annual permits are a great way to enjoy park activities and events throughout the year, with winter events planned throughout the province.
