Members of the business community were honoured on June 11 at the Weyburn Chamber of Commerce's WEYBEX Awards.小蓝视频ern Industrial and Truck received two honours including the New or Expanded Business Award and Business of the Year."It's a very prestigious award," said 小蓝视频ern Industrial and Truck owner and operator Dennice Rouse. "We are very honoured to be recognized by the business community for our many years of service and we just really appreciate it."小蓝视频ern Industrial and Truck began in 1989 as a truck and trailer service shop. In January, the company moved into a 36,000 square-foot custom-built facility to become a full-service dealership.
Don Kraft received the Business Leader of the Year Award for showing outstanding success in his career as General Manager of the Weyburn Co-op for the past 15 years. Since Kraft came to Co-op, the business has expanded from an $18 million per year earning company to a $53 million per year company."This award for the Co-op is very important," said Kraft. "The Cooperative always tries to be a leader in the community, to help expand the community base, the economic and social aspects of the community, so we are very pleased to receive the award on behalf of the company."The Golden Service Award went to Weyburn Canadian Tire for consistently demonstrating outstanding customer service and hospitality. Owner Joe Cayan accepted the award.United Centrifuge, a solids control and dewatering equipment distributor for the oil and gas industry, received the Community Involvement Award for funding various initiatives and community groups, particularly where the city's youth are concerned. Owner Wayne Ebel accepted the award.Companies inducted into the Business Hall of Fame included Terry's Cycle, Weyburn Review, Aldon Oils and Barber Motors.Finalists included Canalta Hotels Group - New or Expanded Business; Superior Office Products - Golden Service; A&W Restaurant - Community Involvement; and Gene and Susan Minard - Business Leader of the Year.
