Story:4-H Moose Mountain Mustangs went to Saskatoon to the University of Saskatoon on January 29, 2011.
With no school on Friday we were able to go up Friday afternoon, which gave us lots of time to get to Saskatoon, have supper and even enjoy some swimming in the hotel.
We got up early and spent the day at the University where we had lots of fun and learned lots. When we got there we were split up into beginners, intermediate and advanced. I was in the beginners class and there was lots of interesting sessions. We got to learn how to lasso and calf rope. We also played games and learned the correct patterns to do some gymkhana events. We had an Anatomy of the Horse session where we got to see a caecum of a horse and a horses leg that was cut in half. Other sessions were Horse Breed of the World and Horse Disciplines. We learned about reining, dressage, coat colors, horse names, markings, and even how to check if your horse is happy.
The advanced learned about Conversational issues, Emergency assessment, Skin Disease, Race Track Conditions, Toxins, and Foaling.
