With just over three weeks left before Homespun, organizers are busy putting the final touches on what is sure to be a great show once again. Homespun Craft Show and Sale is fast approaching and is entering into its 25th year.

The craft show, also referred to as 'the biggest little craft show in Saskatchewan,' will take over the Carlyle Sports Arena on Sept. 17 and 18 with more than 80 exhibitors displaying their craftsmanship.

The show typically sees an average of 4,000 people come through the doors throughout the weekend. Judy Riddell, one of the Homespun directors, believes this is due to the quality products the craft show has become known for. "I think because we have really worked to make the show a quality show, people know that they aren't going to come and just see fridge magnets."

Riddell knows the importance of making the craft show attractive to all. "There is something for everyone. This year, we have a wood turner coming, so there is something for the men. And the gentleman with the knives will be there again this year."

For those who have attended Homespun before, they know the weekend is more than just a two-day craft sale. For those who have never been, make sure this year is your first.

The show itself starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday and continues to 6 p.m. Sunday means a slightly later start at 11 a.m. with the vendors putting away their displays at 4 p.m.

The weekend provides something for everyone with this СÀ¶ÊÓƵ the ninth year of the Quilt Show. Between 80 and 100 quilts are anticipated to take over Memorial Hall in addition to vendors and free demonstrations. The show will take place on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Homespun Craft Show and Sale also provides a chance for shoppers to win their purchases. Riddell said "We have our win your purchase program again this year and we will draw five tickets and pay up to $300 for each. Last year was the first year that we ended up paying out $300 for a purchase. Normally they come to $53 or $97, but last year someone came out really lucky and won the big one. And we do the same thing for the quilt show. They sell product there too, so you can win your purchase there too."

For the men out there, you have not been forgotten. The annual "Show 'n Shine" to be held at Merit Ford will be in its fourth year. Located on highway 9 north, the show 'n shine is always a highlight. Last year, a total of 47 vehicles were on hand for auto enthusiasts. This year's show is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday with a barbecue lunch available to those in attendance.

And don't forget about the food. The annual pancake breakfast offered by the fire department is sure to be a hit once again and for those hoping to catch an evening meal, 'Supper in the Field' is sure to be an attraction.
