Organizers of the Saskatchewan Oil and Gas Show are busy with planning and putting together information to enable the event to go ahead, with public health regulations in mind.
鈥淲e are continuing to advance the Show and fully plan on holding it on the scheduled dates of June 2 and 3,鈥� said Oil Show chair Dan Cugnet (he is shown above, presenting a book to guest speaker, commentator Rex Murphy, who has confirmed to be a speaker this year as well).
鈥淲e have submitted a comprehensive plan for the Show to the Saskatchewan Business Response Unit that then gets elevated to the Ministry of Health, that is helping organizations navigate events or functions during COVID.鈥�
He noted the board is working in conjunction with the province, and have come up with some creative concepts they believe will allow organizers to hold a safe and enjoyable Oil Show.
鈥淭he Show of course will be different than it traditionally has been, but we think the modified format for this Show will be a tremendous success,鈥� added Cugnet.
There is still some back and forth with government and health officials as they steer towards something that is very achievable for the show dates in June.
鈥淎s always, we look forward to putting on a first class event for the exhibitors, attendants, speakers and the entire 小蓝视频east community,鈥� said Cugnet, adding, 鈥淲e are always happy to celebrate and promote the entire Oil and Gas sector, as well as the terrific businesses, communities and leaders that make up 小蓝视频east Saskatchewan, and this Show will be no different.鈥�
The organizers plan to also hold the golf tournament, although it may have to be done differently, such as not using a shotgun start. The golf tournament would be held on June 1, but that could change, depending on what happens with the show. And no matter what, they will be announcing this year鈥檚 Oilman of the Year, 小蓝视频east Saskatchewan Oilman of the Year, and Saskatchewan Oil Patch Hall of Fame inductees
